Jesus first followers were not refered to as "Christians" until a couple hundred years later. Up until that time they were simply called "The Way". Im not sure who coined the term "Christian" probably one of the roman emperors of the time. The term "Way" is mentioned several times in the New Testament.
Jesus warned His deciples that "ravenous wolves would enter the flock" and mislead many. Who were the "ravenous wolves"? I believe it was the early popes. Who was the first pope? Well the Catholoics would like us all to believe it was the apostle Peter, and all popes there after are successors of Peter. History says Peter was the founder of the first church in Rome but never was called "pope". There were many leaders of "The Way" during that time who were refered to as "bishops". They were known to engage in heated arguements about the theology of "The Way" , probably about the Jewishness of the doctrine as many of the early followers of Jesus were devout Jews as was Jesus Himself. The gnostics, and gnostic interpetations of Jesus' teachings were also hotly debated. But the first pope was not appointed until the roman emperor Constantine declared Christianity the official religeon of the empire. From 366a.d.-384a.d. a man called Damasus was installed as the first"pope". The word pope means Father. I don"t believe Jesus' early followers would have refered to any of the early leaders "Father" because Jesus himself said "call no one Father exept your heavenly Father". So whats up with that? What"s up with the pagan holidays indroctrinated into our christian religeon? Those are just a couple of the ways that christianity has been hi-jacked by the "wolves" that enetered into the early flock and we are still being misled today.
New gospels have been found in the holy land that sheds much light on what really happened in the early days of our faith. The gospel of Mary, The gospel of Thomas, The gospel of Phillip, and even The Gospel of Judas. These are the writtings that the "wolves" kept secret and even tried to destroy. Why? I believe these gospels contained truths that they did"nt want us to know about or to teach to our children. They knew that if the masses knew the "whole truth" they would no longer need their leadership and thus not support the new faith financially. So in order to maintain their lavish life styles those leaders with held all the truth and only taught part of the truth to the masses. More in my next blog

Is GOD Real?
Is God real? Or is he just an escape for weak minded people? I"ve come to the conclusion that God is very real and He exists in every one of us whether we choose to believe in Him or not. If we choose not to believe in Him that does"nt make Him any less real it just means we made a choice not to believe for what ever reason. God gave us the power of choice, free moral agency. He does"nt want robots under a spell that just do what ever we are programmed or to blindly follow the leader without regard for truth and justice. He wants children who love and honor Him as their Father. Children who look to Him for guidence and direction. Just the same way as we would like our children to be to us. His Word says "my people parrish from lack of knowledge". So to better understand God we need to look at His word.
The best source for the wisdom of God is still the inspired Holy Scriptures, The Bible. The reason why I believe in this book is because it has survived through the centuries despite all attempts to destroy it. Some have argued that God"s word has been distorted by mistranslations and interpetations, that may or may not be true, again it"s a matter of what we choose to believe. Close examination of the Bible only reenforces my belief in an all powerfull creator of heaven and earth who I choose to call my God.
Those who choose not to believe in God have no hope in a much better existence after we die. All that matters to them is what they experience in this life, as short as it is. To me, that renders this life pointless and meaningless.
Evidence of God is all around us. Look at all the designs in ever living thing. Evolution cannot design life! No matter what these misguided minds try to teach us there are still to many unanswered questions about our origins that can only be satisfied by the existence of a Creator. And if God does exist, and I believe He does, would"nt it be wise to consider getting to know Him? And even embrace Him for who He is? It would be utter foolishness to reject Him and insist that all there is to life is our 70 or so years then we die and have nothing more to look forward to than oblivian.
I believe there is more to us than just our fleshly existence. I believe God created us in His image, which is spirit, and then gave each of us a body of flesh to inhabit. We are spirits having a human experience not humans that may have a spiritual experience. This makes way more sense to me than any thing the "New Agers" teach. I can only express what I"ve learned over the years and try get this point acrossed to who ever will listen, not to gain any recognition for myself but only to bring glory and honor to the One who gave me the power to understand. I"d much rather go thruogh this life with Him than without Him.
Have you noticed that believers in God overall have a better attitude in general? That they seem to be happier and better adjusted to life? Believers for the most part live longer than non-believers. Poeple of faith tend to be more generous and helpful to others, that tells me that God is good for us. Poeple who choose not to acknowledge God are probably afraid of Him because they have been taught false doctrines by churches who want nothing more than to control the masses of people in order to become powerful and wealthy. Look at the history of some of the major so called "Christian" churches. It is really shocking to see what has happened in the past in the name of Christiaity. The early christians, the first followers of Jesus would be shocked. I'm sure they are looking down from heaven and shaking their heads in disgust at what they see. Their faith has been hi-jacked by greedy self-rightcous teachers of lies.

christianity
I am extremely interested in the truth about Christanity and God. My interest has led me to study and gain insight about the many ways poeple choose to worship God. It really can be confusing to the average person almost to the point of rejecting God altogether.
In my quest for the truth I have been involved with the Catholics, the Meathodist, Lutherans Pentecostals, Church of God, Church of Christ, and others, even the Jehovah"s Witnesses. What I have learned so far is that to get at the "real" truth a person must go back to the beginning, the origin of where it all started.
Jesus, himself was a devout Jew. Without Judaism there would be no Chistianity. So that should be a clue about where to find the truth.
Many people will argue that "the Jews killed Jesus", well maybe that might be true but we should not generalize who "the Jews" were that did this. In fact, it was a small group of chief priests and teachers of the Jewish law that plotted against Jesus out of jealousy and fear of the roman authorities of the time. The vast majority of the "jews"actually followed Jesus, at least those who heard his teachings and witnessed his miracles.
God, the true God, the creator of the universe and all that is in it sent Jesus here for a reason, a very important reason. That is to give all mankind hope. Hope for salvation. Hope for everlasting life in a place where there is no death, no war, no poverty, no grief. Only pure peace and joy unspeakable.
In the beginning of God"s relationship with his most exellent creation "us", He chose certain ones to communicate His ways, to make known his wishes, and instuctions for His people to have the best life possible. His Law or commandments were for the good of people. When these things were ignored trouble happened. If a person murdered it affected others, then revenge. Adultry caused mistrust then family breakdown and so on. All of Gods laws are for our own good.
These sins of the people were forgiven only if a sacrifice was made. Generally it was a lamb without spot or blemish that had to be killed on an alter. A perfect sacrifice, the blood of the sacrifice must be shed to atone for the wrong things the people were doing.
God knows that as people born into sin from one man, Adam, we are all prone to do things that are against Gods laws. Knowing that it is impossible for us to keep the Law and the commandments He, out of his unconditional pure love for us sent His first born perfect creation, His only begotten Son, as a perfect sacrifice to atone for the sins of the whole world, not just for the Jewish people but for any of mankind who hear this message and believe in Jesus and what He did for all of us.
There is more I want to share with anyone who reads this. Follow my next blog and I will explain why I believe what I do in more detail.

Internet rip offs
Im relatively new to the net and as I explore the potential here I have been overwhelmed by the opportunities that seem to exist here. I"ve learned alot so far but still have so much more to learn. I"m like a kid in a candy store that can"t decide on whatb flavor they he wants to try.
I can see the possibility of many ways to make money and maybe even a living doing somthing online. Selling, advertising, writting, music, photography, art, where does it end?
I don"t like to admit it but I did"nt know what a blog was until about two months ago when I got this idea about a web site for amature musicians and paid this guy to build it for me. I did"nt even have a computer of my own then and had no computer skills at all. I mean I was like a baby taking his first steps. Since then I"ve been educated somewhat in the scope of all the SCAMS that are out there that take advantage of gullible souls like me. I have"nt lost a lot of money "yet" but I am very cautious about what I choose to involve my self in.
The first thing I tried was the SURVEY thing. Make money sharing your opinion. Yeah right, it seems viable, but 2 days after I started I was bombarded with spam, phone calls, and text messages about things I have no interest in at all. Now I"m trying the affilliate marketing gig and looking for things to advertise on my web site; PicYourStar.com. I've signed up with Ticketmaster, Amazon, Musicians freind and a couple others. What else can a person do to legitimatly make money online? So far I have"nt made a dime.
If anyone actually reads this post and can help me I would so appreciate it.
