Early Christians

Jesus first followers were not refered to as "Christians" until a couple hundred years later. Up until that time they were simply called "The Way". Im not sure who coined the term "Christian" probably one of the roman emperors of the time. The term "Way" is mentioned several times in the New Testament.

Jesus warned His deciples that "ravenous wolves would enter the flock" and mislead many. Who were the "ravenous wolves"? I believe it was the early popes. Who was the first pope? Well the Catholoics would like us all to believe it was the apostle Peter, and all popes there after are successors of Peter. History says Peter was the founder of the first church in Rome but never was called "pope". There were many leaders of "The Way" during that time who were refered to as "bishops". They were known to engage in heated arguements about the theology of "The Way" , probably about the Jewishness of the doctrine as many of the early followers of Jesus were devout Jews as was Jesus Himself. The gnostics, and gnostic interpetations of Jesus' teachings were also hotly debated. But the first pope was not appointed until the roman emperor Constantine declared Christianity the official religeon of the empire. From 366a.d.-384a.d. a man called Damasus was installed as the first"pope". The word pope means Father. I don"t believe Jesus' early followers would have refered to any of the early leaders "Father" because Jesus himself said "call no one Father exept your heavenly Father". So whats up with that? What"s up with the pagan holidays indroctrinated into our christian religeon? Those are just a couple of the ways that christianity has been hi-jacked by the "wolves" that enetered into the early flock and we are still being misled today.
New gospels have been found in the holy land that sheds much light on what really happened in the early days of our faith. The gospel of Mary, The gospel of Thomas, The gospel of Phillip, and even The Gospel of Judas. These are the writtings that the "wolves" kept secret and even tried to destroy. Why? I believe these gospels contained truths that they did"nt want us to know about or to teach to our children. They knew that if the masses knew the "whole truth" they would no longer need their leadership and thus not support the new faith financially. So in order to maintain their lavish life styles those leaders with held all the truth and only taught part of the truth to the masses. More in my next blog
